Code.Blog Code Talk for the Game Developer
Sorry I've been gone so long geek community!  I've been very busy moving in and re-starting school for my 5th and final year of college.  What else have I been up to?

Well I totally messed up Pong RPG and it would need some serious fixes before I could deploy it again.  Here's your geek tip:

When using Visual Studio (at least 2005), when you right click and add something like a jpg, often it will create a local copy specifically stored for that project.  However, when you add an existing project to a solution, it simply references that project and any edits will edit the original copy, NOT a copy built specifically for that project.

With this unknown knowledge, I started a new game, made some massive updates, and made it so I couldn't undo my changes.  Now Pong is incredibly broken.

On the other hand, I've got a group of about 7 (including myself) people here at college who have talked to me about working on this game.  I'm working on the general engine right now and basically trying to build a decent UML of the system as I build it.  I'm having a problem finding things to assign people so hopefully that changes :) Posted on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 11:06 AM | Back to top
