Looking for some "real world" assistance with setting up AS2 transmissions between ourselves (BizTalk Server 2009) and outside vendors.

Tutorial provided by Microsoft are very simple and basic = very easy. All I want to do is add certificates and signing and WHAM!!! I can not get it to work.

I am sure it would be easy if I could locate a "real world" sample to follow. However, I can not find anything other than their simple move a file from one folder to another on the same server tutorial.

Any advice you can lend a BizTalk Server 2009 newbee???

Many thanks!

I have always found the default help documentation very helpful and organized for newbies - the one that you get when you install BizTalk server. You can also download it from You should also download code samples which comes with good documentation - this will help a lot in knowing the product better.

The product is made simpler from it's preprocessors but its important to get the basics right. You should also search for some Hands-on labs documents.

The real learning happens when you start working on a project. The samples may work perfect in first go but it's not as simple as it appears or as tough as you may feel. Knowing the product and technology is the key.

I have never faced major problems in connecting to external data sources so, hopefully you should be good with your transmissions with outside vendors.
