Today New Horizons has reached 21 AU from the Sun. (1 AU is the average distance of the Earth from the Sun.)

New Horizons is now so far from the Sun that it takes light 5hrs 54 minutes and 48 seconds to make the round trip from Earth.

Please join me me in saluting Dr Alan Stern and the team at John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory who are running this multi-year fly-by mission to the planet Pluto and beyond.
