Search this Blog!

I thought I posted this a long time ago, but when I searched for it to do an update, I couldn't find was still in Draft form.  So, now I can post the whole thing with the update at once.

A new people search engine, Spock, will be debuting in the very near future.  From the info at TechCrunch, it looks pretty cool, but will no doubt give rise to even more concerns about privacy on the web.  From what I've seen, for people-related searches, this blows the doors off of Google, but we'll see what actually happens.

The site is beta-invite only right now, so if you're interested, you can go there and request and invite or hope you get one from someone who has one available.

UPDATE: I've been invited to participate and have three invites myself.  Let me know if you'd like one.  So far I'm moderately impressed.  It's a Web 2.0 site, so it has some "social networking" features.  You can add information about yourself to the database so that info will come up if someone happens to search on you (not very likely in my case, but if my name were Robert Scoble I might be interested).
