The third tutorial in my 2D Managed DirectX development with Visual Basic Express is up and ready to be read. This tutorial covers communication with the keyboard. You don't end up doing anything exciting by the end of the tutorial other than being able to close the application by pressing a key, but the groundwork has been laid and moving a sprite around is coming in the near future. Managed DirectX Tutorial 02 - Creating a 2D Sprite is now available
The second of my Managed DirectX tutorials is complete. These tutorials are designed to cover the basics in Managed DirectX development in Visual Basic for 2D game developers. This particular tutorial covers creating a sprite object and rendering it. You can read the new tutorial here and see my previous tutorials here. My first Managed DirectX tutorial is complete
The first of my Managed DirectX tutorials was completed today, it covers setting up the DirectX device object for rendering. You can read it here or just take a look at the articles under the "Managed DirectX Tutorials" category. The hardest part in developing the tutorials was trying to figure out what to say about each section of code. Hopefully I did ok, but at times I felt like I was just repeating what the comments in the code said. If you check it out, let me know what you think so I can tweak ......
