Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

Spent most of Saturday in the van, coming back from Omaha. I got home around 2pm, checked the mail and found a nasty surprise.  My oldest son's interim report. All A's and B's (mostly A's) and an F in reading due to "many missing assignments."  Huh?

Needless to say, I wasn't very happy about this. The thing is, I see him do his homework every night. So either he isn't turning it in, or there's some other problem. I know he's a good reader. He reads all the time.

What upsets me most about this is that I just had a conference with his teacher not more than a week ago and she gave me no indication that his reading grade was so bad. Especially considering how good his other grades are??

Isn't this what conferences are for?

Apparently those magazines he found at the back of your closet you don't actually count as 'reading' even if you do buy them 'just for the articles' ;-)
