CFL Results

So let's see how I did picking the winners this week.

Calgary 23 - Hamilton 22
My pick: Hamilton
Calgary had this game gift-wrapped to Hamilton, who still looked to struggle through most of the game. I'm not sure if Maas isn't comfortable throwing deep, or if PaoPao's new offensive scheme calls for more short passes. Either way, when they did go deep, they got huge yards...but that only happened a few times. Henry Burris all but giftwrapped the win with a late game fumble that Hamilton coulnd't convert for a TD and settled for the field goal. Their defense then fell apart and allowed Calgary to get within field goal range and the game was won. Obviously both these teams have work to do, as neither looked stellar...kind of the battle of the basement type of game.

BC 26 - Toronto 19
My pick: BC
No surprise here. Wynn continues to look horrible...they've gotta figure out something at QB in Toronto.

Winnipeg 46 - Edmonton 10
Everyone and their dog's pick: Edmonton
What a collosal meltdown. There are more issues in Edmonton than we thought. And the Bombers looked good...really good. Kevin Glenn finally got on the TD board last night, and he looked like Khari Jones back in 2000/2001. I'm still holding off on jumping back on the Bomber bandwagon though until they defeat a quality team like BC or Montreal. So far they've got two wins off of Toronto, who's sucking without Allen, and Edmonton, a team that everyone knew comign into the season wasn't the same team that won the Grey Cup last year. Still though, great performance by the Blue. Horrible by the Esks.

Nintendo DS - Day 3

So its day 3 of having my DS, and i'm already reverting back to my 8-bit Nintendo days, playing it as much as possible. In fact, the battery died last night and I've already had to re-charge it. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is still the main one I'm playing, although that may change as I'm getting very frustrated with a bug in the game. Once you hit the Cursed Clock Tower, there are these little black imp-demon things that fly around at you. For some reason, the game will go into an infinite loop randomly when one flies too close and you end up just standing there slashing your weapon around while the thing floats over your head. THere's nothing you can do to get out of this except turn the system off. This is REALLY annoying since these things are all over this level! So I might go back to Mario for a bit and vent my frustrations on some unsuspecting turtles. Otherwise, loving the system...you should all go out and buy one...seriously.

D'Arcy, that isn't an infinite loop - if you hammer on the buttons enough those imps will leave you alone!!
