Can a Mac POST?

Saturday, September 23, 2006 4:20 AM

It's early...but visions of getting my Mac up and running are soaring through my head. (And its only 7:03 AM here...my timestamp is wrong on my blog posts...gotta fix that...).

Here's a pic of my Mac btw:

So a few more observations made before my woes began...

Microsoft's Messenger for Mac is very slick. It runs pretty much like Messenger on Windows, and its nice that I don't need to use some third-party app that integrates with MSN instead of just directly accessing the system.

Installing programs on a Mac is very simple (except Boot Camp, ha ha ha...jerks). Most apps I've seen so far have a virtual drive attached, and you just copy/paste the exe over to the Apps folder of your profile. No install wizards, no dll's. Just one file. Interesting, and very very easy. I can see why non-techies would like this sort of setup.

K...back to my Mac forums...there's gotta be a way to get this thing to give me access to the MOBO bios...

Command + Option + O + F

should get you into the OpenProm (Mac's don't have a BIOS, but conceptionally the OpenProm is very similar).

I got that from this page:

which has many other useful commands.
