Response to Justice Gray's Blog Post

Justice, Justice, Justice...I'm so sorry that your little trip to the western coast was disrupted! I'd like to point something out though, as I think you misunderstood some of the things that happened on your trip, as per your blog post.

"Justice will get into several brushes with the law as he attempts to convince various policemen/traffic cops that they need to park their car - Mrs L will end up using her seductive Asian wiles to convince the police officers to let her through the barricade. "

I am now going to use the term "seductive Asian wiles" at as many opportunities as possible.

"The staff will assume Justice and Helen are actually from the United States as they explain that there is a semi-final game going on and that "these things are huge in Canada"."

No, they didn't think that you were from the US...they knew that you were from Edmonton and that you must just be in a state of disbelief that your Eskimoes could go from champs to chumps in the span of a year.

"It will turn out that

  • the BC Lions demolished the Saskatchewan Roughriders or whatever they are called in the first period
  • most of the people at the game wisely decided that they didn't need to stay at the game since the destruction had already occured
  • there will be a distinct lack of rioting in contrast to the Blue and Red miles seen in Alberta
  • the vast majority of the world will *still* not care about the CFL"

Yes, the Lions demolished the Roughriders

Most of the people at the game wisely decied that they didn't need to stay because the EASTERN CHAMPION MONTREAL ALOUETTES are going to win the Grey Cup this year regardless of who they play.

There's a lack of rioting because everyone on the west coast is too stoned.

The vast majority of the world won't care about the CFL, which is ok because the vast majority of the world doesn't care about India's Cricket leagues or American Football or Austrailia Rugby. That's why its called the CANADIAN Football League, because its only really aimed at...wait for it...CANADIANS.

Time to get into the spirit of the game mang! w00t!

My response to D'Arcy's response.

Justice's "brushes" with the law usually include him bent over the front of a car begging for a body cavity search.

Mrs. L does have wiles. I'm not sure about the seductive part and I certainly question her taste in men.

Oh, and D'Arcy, I care about India's Cricket League. NZ Provincial Rugby is better than Aussie Rugby, but those Aussies have AFL....and that's not part of the NFL (thank god).

It's a good thing that the CFL is going to become the BCFL next week. The Lions will be stomping on the Als, D'Arcy will be buying me dinner (complete with Montreal sized double scotch) at Baton Rouge while he wears a Lions jersey. DevTeach is going to be soooo sweet this spring....so sweet. 11/13/2006 6:28 PM | Donald Belcham

I think the best part of this is that you still assume I have *any* civic pride in Edmonton's sports teams! Man, I know they suck! I don't root for 'em!

However, I heartily approve of you using "seductive Asian wiles" in as many sentences as possible. I think that the people who are submitting abstracts to DevTeach *and* reading this comment should all commit themselves to trying to use it in their presentations, if accepted.

Actually, scratch that, I will ensure at least one of my abstracts uses it! 11/16/2006 9:21 AM | Justice~!

Thanks Gray!
