Telerik Rad Grid in Web Part

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 4:00 PM

Anyone have any experience getting the Export to Excel functionality working properly in a Sharepoint web part?

Specifically what's happening is that if I export the file, when I try to use a control on the page afterwards that provides a postback nothing happens.

Check this thread on the Telerik forums for more background.

Thanks,

D

Hello. I was wondering if you had come across a solution for this issue. I have now come across the same issue and spent the better part of today trying to develop a simple, clean solution with no luck.

Thank you in advanced.

Hey Jeff,

After checking with a bunch of Sharepoint peeps (including Jeff Julian from GWB), the concensus was that for exporting to Excel or any other format in Sharepoint, using a seperate page was the way to go.

So we abandoned the built in Export-To-Excel functionality and instead created a seperate ASP.NET page in the Pages folder of the Sharepoint site which duplicated the data call from the web part and just pushed through the response stream as an Excel type.

A workaround to avert this issue is to use the following script in the webpart:
<script type="text/javascript">

//sharepoint postback to work after clicking on telerik export to pdf/excel
if (typeof (_spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames) != 'undefined' && _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames != null) {
_spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("supressSubmitWraper");
}

function supressSubmitWraper() {
_spSuppressFormOnSubmitWrapper = true;
}

function RowDblClick(sender, eventArgs) {
sender.get_masterTableView().editItem(eventArgs.get_itemIndexHierarchical());
}

</script> 12/4/2015 3:49 PM | Hem Chandra
