And this raises an important question. Its important because to become good at anything you have to experience other things. Which pretty much just echo's what Rob was saying all along.

Some examples that have been enlightening to me have been:

The give and take in bicycle design (why can't they just switch gears at any time?) Has helped me to frame the cost vs benefit arguments in software.

Doing subtractive sculpture in college helps me appreciate that code is both a subtractive and additive medium.

So I encourage you to find alternate forms of inspiration to improve your coding skills.
