Hi,

My build failed when I tried with below Version number:-

[assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.100115.0")]
[assembly: AssemblyFileVersion("1.0.100115.0")]

Here 100115 denotes the Build number in YYMMDD format. I surprised my build is failing with this build number, when I further analysed I observed anything above 65534 is considered as invalid build number in AssemblyVersion. However AssemblyFileVersion is OK with this build number.

As per definition Version is Major.Minor.Build.Revision and all parts are of type System.Int32 which has the maximum value upto 2147483647. When I googled about the problem I found problem started in the beggning of year 2006... follow the below links on MSBuild Team Blog by Neil Enns "Build Numbers limited to 65534"
