I have had this brought up by some co-workers and wondered if anyone from MS would like to officially comment? When Outlook 2003 was released there was the potential for un-patched Exchange 5.5 information stores to get corrupted or experience problems and dismount. Is Outlook 2007 officially (as in written somewhere - not just anecdotally) supported against a mailbox on an Exchange 2003 SP2 server? Comments welcomed. Update: I finally found, buried here, this: Connectivity to Microsoft Exchange ......
Dell has announced on it's Direct 2 Dell website that it will be releasing a Latitude Tablet PC in the second half of 2007. It will be using "leadership technology" and be optimized for the education, healthcare and corporate Tablet PC markets. It does look nice and thin and I cannot wait to start getting reports on this puppy once reviewable units start hitting the street. Technorati tags: Dell, Tablet PC, Latitude ......
I was happy to see that Stardock was using it's skinning expertise to provide themes for it's Object Desktop suite of programs. After all, their skins are arguably the best. I have looked high and low for a good Ohio State theme and to be honest, none have blown me away. So when I saw Stardock Design debut the My Colors line I was excited. I was less excited to see them select the morons from TSUN as their first skin, but I suppose some people can be bought. Then they added insult to injury and completed ......
Betalicious . . . mmmmmm Halo.
Mary Jo Foley caught a good one over at the presspass website for WinHEC 2007. Originally, listed in the link bar is a link for "Windows Server 2008 reviewer guide" which linked to the Longhorn Server Beta 3 guide. She even took a screen shot of the link bar in case Microsoft changed it after realizing the blunder. The name has not been officially announced yet. And was she ever right. I have a shot here of the new link bar in which it reads "Windows Server Codename "Longhorn" Beta 3." Nice. Technorati ......
I have always been a big fan of the Thinkpad. While traditionally more expensive, they are one of the most reliable and best made laptops around. They are also one of the best made for the enterprise and boast a ton of management capabilities built in, both at the hardware and software level, for support and end users. The Dell is pitiful in comparison in this regard. They also allow their design team to blog openly about the thought process behind design decisions on their laptops. The transparency ......
Here is an interesting story: someone switched from Mac OS X to Windows Vista and reports a faster, more pleasurable experience. Quote: "I didn’t expect it to be like this, I didn’t want Vista to be this good - I was expecting to boot back into OS X and living happily ever after, but damn, this is one fast, slick and nice operating system. If you are a Mac user try it yourself, install boot camp and Vista and it will feel like you just added another CPU and doubled your RAM - I can’t see any evidence ......
As of SP2, Exchange 2003 was supported in production in a Microsoft virtual environment. Now that Exchange 2007 requires 64 bits to be supported in production and Microsoft does not have a virtualization platform that supports a 64 bit guest, Exchange 2007 is not supported in production in a virtual environment. From the Microsoft document Technical Architecture of Exchange 2007: Exchange 2007 and Virtualization Exchange 2007 is not supported in production in a virtual environment; however, as stated ......
This is one of my favorite shows on television. Mostly I think, because I am a geek, I love science and I am terrible at math. I love the concepts and in so far as I don't have to actually crunch the numbers, I love math. 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0. 204 Technorati tags: Numb3rs ......
