Image manipulation with dot net 2.0.
.net makes some things really easy. Image manipulation is one of them. Here's a class that will resize and convert images to and from any of the .net formats. I know, I'm a cost center, but I think we're loosing more money than we would if we were staffed sufficiently. Currently, we have around 100 outstanding bug fixes, enhancement requests, etc, and some of them are very large projects. I'd assign them to employees, except that I don't have any that aren't already using their full bandwidth. The list just keeps growing. The worst part is that because we don't have the people, we're unable to move as quickly as we'd like. We're trying to hire a new sysadmin, ......

Abdication versus delegation
I had an interesting discussion with an employee of mine the other day. He's a former high level executive that decided he wanted to go back to coding. Of course, he has the money to do that now, so why not! Anyway, we discussed the difference between abdicating duties and delegating duties.
