Looking to Rock the PDC 2010 LG E900 Phone on AT&T?

If you are one of the numerous PDC10 attendees moving your iPhone SIM to your free LG-E900 Windows Phone 7, and you're on AT&T, you may have noticed the minute you lost WiFi coverage your data stopped as well. If you read through the paperwork that comes with the phone there was a quick little note that says "you may need to manually configure your APN setting." Well that was an important hint to getting your Windows Phone 7 up and running with data on AT&T. To updates the APN do the following on your phone:

Open Settings
Cellular
Scroll to the bottom where is says Set or Edit APN
- APN: wap.cingular
- Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
- Password: CINGULAR1

Yes those are all cingular names, but that's what AT&T still uses. These settings are those that are required for the iPhone to work, so if you're coming from a non-iPhone plan, these settings may not work, or you may be required to upgrade your data plan. Also I won't guarantee that this won't impact our data plans in any way, it simply gets the Windows Phone 7 up and running on the AT&T iPhone data plan, and seems to work fine for me.

Were you able to get the voicemail to work with AT&T?

It seems to be set to dial 5000 which does nothing to access voicemail and I cant find any settings to specify how the voicemail button should work.

I hadn't dug into that one yet. I do know that when I've used the NeuxOne with the iPhone SIM there are issues with voicemail because of some setting on the AT&T side that is unique to the iPhone for the visual voicemail. So even if we get the button updated we might still see other issues.

Actually just looked... Open the phone app, hit the ... For the menu, then call settings. It's right on that screen for voicemail.

I didn't need the username or password, just the APN. For voice mail, I looked at the number my old phone was using. It was definitely nothing obvious.

Yeah, I just ported over from my sprint phone and it took them awhile to find the same thing, Just the all important APN is needed. So far light years better than my WINMO 6.5 device! And as a side note, ATT has made some huge improvements to their customer service.

Thanks for the tip. Everything on the phone is working but MMS. Anyone have luck with this? This is the only thing keeping me from using the phone right now instead of my iPhone.

You will have to call AT&T to get the back door number. Once I had it and put it in via the instructions above it worked. Tried MMS and did not work. I will be going into an AT&T store tomorrow to see what I can find out. I'll update if I learn anything

Use your cell number as the voicemail number.

Has anyone been able to send or receive picture messages? I can transmit txt messages, but not images. Everything else, including 3G data, is working.

Got MMS working. Here's what I did: 1) dial ##634# (this will cause a MFG app to display in your app list). 2) Launch the MFG app (password is 277634#*#). 3) Use menus: Engineering > Other Setting > Set Network Profiles. 4) In the list, select "_Pro_ATT_US_310_410.xml". That's it (plus you no longer need to customize the APN settings).
