Geo-Names has released a utility that will scan an RSS feed for geographical content and spit out a GeoRSS feed. So you can grab the RSS feed for this blog and convert it to GeoRSS. Since Where's Tim understands GeoRSS, you can view the geographical data of my feed in relation to my current location here.

You can also use the same utility to spit out KML and view the data in Google Earth

Its free : GeoNames data is free. Datasets of lesser quality and coverage from other 'vendors' may cost more than 25.000$ per year.
cc-by licence (creative commons attributions license). You should give credit to GeoNames when using data or web services with a link or another reference to GeoNames.

You can download it from

Thanks to Tim Hibbard to inform us this converter.

KML for Google Maps is like an xml file with specific tags. I guess that it is possible to make a rss file parser and create KML files. Why someone should charge 25.000$ per year for such a service, I don't understand. Or, maybe they charge the real information they give you, not the parsing service.
